Three endearing Christmas movies to watch with our children

These special dates for children are sure to find time to enjoy together with some activity. It is an ideal time for the movie theater, to watch movies with them, to accompany them by immersing themselves in the seventh art with some emblematic titles, very appropriate for Christmas.

I'm going to review three Christmas-themed movies (and very different from each other) that I think of the most endearing. They are well known but not less recommended and also, why not, to repeat. My little ones don't settle for watching a movie once. If you have loved them, do not hesitate to repeat and repeat, even if you know each scene. They live it like the first time. And this usually happens with unforgettable movies.

'Home alone' (1990)

A success back in the early nineties that triumphed at the box office and lived several sequels. Directed by Chris Columbus, he starred in full swing of the young man Macaulay Culkin, a boy turned into a star who managed to captivate everyone with his mixture of tenderness and mischief.

In this story, despite not being a fully Christmas story, it is set precisely these days. Recall that it is Kevin, the little one of a family who on his Christmas trip forget him leaving him alone at home while a couple thugs, plan to steal in the absence of everyone. But Kevin brings out his ingenuity with traps to defend the home, until his family returns.

It's a very simple story but in which little Kevin shows some discomfort with his family at first, he feels misunderstood, but ends up taking out his self esteem, courage and responsibility to defend your home. Of course, the little one is the total protagonist and his traps and ingenuity are what captivate children. Recommended for children from three years. The movie is very popular so very easy to find on DVD.

'The Teleñecos in Christmas Story' (1992)

The well-known characters of the teleñecos, very popular on television for some generations, had film intervention with a classic Christmas story. Nothing less than the famous Dickens tale transferred to the peculiar universe of these nice characters. Adapting this Christmas fantasy story, they add their touch of humor and have the great Michael Caine playing the miser Mr. Scrooge, with a great job.

It is not necessary to remember much this classic story where on Christmas night some ghosts visit Mr. Scrooge and transport him to the past, present and future offering an uninviting panorama that leads him to reflect and change his greed.

It is a very endearing film and at the same time full of feeling. Told in a very hypnotic way, children will be captivated at all times with the characters and with a fantastic story that always works. The teleñecos manage to give history that touch of Magic necessary to make it unforgettable.

Of course, the values of the story remain intact, demonstrating the value of goodness, how everyone can have an opportunity to repent and the importance of these dates to reflect, live as a family and be generous with others. Recommended movie for children from three years. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the creator of these creatures, a recent special DVD edition was marketed by Disney.

'Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer'

He little reindeer Rudolph He is the protagonist of this adaptation of a popular Anglo-Saxon carol that has had, in its musical version, different versions. This is one of the reindeer that, according to Christmas mythology, pulls Santa's sleigh, which has also been adapted to television. Two of the most prominent are one of 1964 made with classic animation of dolls in stop-motion and another more recent one, of 1998, of animation (which can be viewed online and purchased on DVD).

The story tells how the young reindeer has always been frowned upon by his peculiar red nose, teased by the rest of the eight reindeer that usually pull the sled. Until on a Christmas day with a great snowstorm, Santa Claus requires Rudolph to put him in front of others so that with his powerful light he could guide them and fulfill the objective of distributing gifts, in addition to achieving respect and admiration of the rest.

As we see it is a classic story of rejection, of mockery in which a young reindeer has to overcome, prove his worth and, despite feeling different, he ends up proving that he can also become a reindeer of Santa's sleigh and his "peculiarity" is overcome to be one more and just reinforced and dear. All this with the magic of a story set with Santa Claus and Christmas. Perhaps it is the most suitable for the little ones, for children from one to five years.
