His name is Timothy Archibald, is a photographer by profession based in San Francisco, and a while ago, when his son Elijah was 5 years old, he decided to start photographing him to somehow document his peculiarities, his hobbies, his way of behaving and relating to the world.
Elijah has autism, and his father thought that starting this project could help show Elijah that he is different, that he is not like other children, and that that does not have to be something negative, but that could be an advantage, what makes it unique.
What he didn't know is that by spending more time with his son, just watching him, he was going to know him much better and he was even going to discover another way of relating to him.
In addition, when contemplating him in his essence, not communicating how each photo should be, by letting him be himself, he saw that his desire to control situations as a photographer could be replaced by the spontaneity and naturalness of each moment.
