Spectacular Asturian beach

Our trip covers just over 600 kilometers on the A-8 and AP-9 roads, with some deviations inland to visit the enclaves that we will propose next. Undoubtedly a very extensive route, but beautiful to enjoy it without hurry during several days of travel.

We will start the route in Santander, beautiful city with beaches of fine sand, emblematic buildings such as the Palacio de la Magdalena, and natural parks that will delight the little ones. Must-see sights in Cantabria are San Vicente de la Barquera, Santillana del Mar, Bárcena La Mayor, a beautiful rural town surrounded by nature and, of course, the Natural Park of Cabárceno.

Continuing our trip along the coast we will enter the Asturias region, where the green color of the landscape, its beautiful cliffs and its kilometer beaches will accompany us as a backdrop.

A must stop in Asturias are the Lagos de Covadonga, the city of Oviedo, the historical park of Navia, Aviles, Gijón, Cabo Peñas, Cudillero, Luarca and the Oscos region, the only Biosphere Reserve that has a coastline and fishing villages.

And that's it in the region of Galicia, we cannot miss Ribadeo and its famous Las Catedrales Beach, the Ortigueira estuary, between Cabo Ortegal and Estaca de Bares, the spectacular Cabo de Finisterre, in Costa da Morte, and end our trip in the municipalities of La Guardia, where we will visit Monte Santa Tecla, and in Tui, on the border with Portugal.

We can park our caravan in the areas enabled for this purpose (in Santander, for example, we have a large adapted parking), or stay in the many campsites that we will find along our route.

To stay in Cantabria, we suggest you consult the Cantabria Camping Association, where you will find a selection of the best offer of inland and coastal campsites. As for Asturias, you can consult the Association of Campings of Asturias, with an offer of more than 40 campsites distributed throughout the geography of the municipality. And to stay in Galicia, we suggest you take a look at the Tourism website of Galicia, where you will find more than 115 campsites where you can go with your motorhome and enjoy a few days of relaxation.
