Do your children see cartoons from your childhood?

A few days ago we talked about David the Gnome and of its 25th anniversary remembering that it was one of the series that the generation of current parents saw almost certainly. In addition to this we could enjoy series like D'Artacan and the Three Musketeers, Willy Fog's Around the World, The Mayan Bee, Vickie the Viking, Heidi, Marco and even Champions, among many others.

These series are no longer broadcast on television because they have been replaced by others such as Pocoyo, Caillou, Mickey Mouse's house, Dora the explorer, Spongebob and others like Gormiti, Ben 10 or The Fox for older children.

The fact is that perhaps because of nostalgia or perhaps because of what we keep a good memory of, We are many parents who use the internet or collectible DVDs (usually from newspapers), to offer our children the chance to see the cartoons of our childhood.

In my case I could not resist getting some chapters of Vickie the Viking, one of the ones I liked best, and put them on to my son Jon. He evidently liked them a lot and even now, after a year of his discovery, he scratches his nose saying "I have an idea" when something comes up.

We also got some chapters of Heidi, since I had seen them at my niece's house and she liked them and these days she has been seeing some of Once upon a time the human body (Surely you all remember the spaceships that ran through our bloodstream).

Talking to some parents, there are those who have confessed to me that their children see Sesame Street, but not the current one, but Espinete's and they love it. Others have talked about The Mayan Bee or of Heidi, which apparently is one of the most surviving.

Do we think maybe that the drawings of now transmit less values than those of yesteryear? Do we remember with sympathy those times of our childhood and want them to stay alive now through our children?

Maybe it's a bit of everything. In my case, there are many good memories lived and I love sitting with my son to see again the adventures of the characters that excited me as a child (I look like a TV ad selling a series ...).
