Barbie opens a new career this year: Robotics Engineer, but will also teach programming

Every year, the famous Barbie doll "chooses" a new career that serves as inspiration and role model for girls. Throughout his life, he has had more than 150 careers in different areas: education, medicine, politics, science, arts and business, among others.

Now, The Mattel company has announced this year's new career: Robotics Engineer. We tell you all about the new twist that Barbie gives to her career.

Barbie's new doll will take the robotics career for the first time and it will be accompanied by safety glasses, its miniature laptop and a small robot. The doll is now available online in the store section of the official Mattel website.

But this doll has something very special, because it is more than just a toy. The Mattel company has made an alliance with Tynker, a programming platform made especially for children and to which they can have access to basic programming lessons (regardless of whether they buy the doll or not).

Through simple and fun lessons and entering the "You can be anything" section, girls will be able to learn about programming, by pretending to develop in different professions. The lessons will focus on problem solving, developing logic and other basic elements of programming.

The doll is available in four skin tones and it is believed that it will help girls visualize themselves in the field of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (CTIM or STEM).
