Baby names that follow fashions, do parents regret it?

Last year in the United States some of the appellants that were at the top of the lists of the names most put to babies It's Edward and Isabella. Maybe these names sound to you: they are the protagonists of the successful literary and cinematographic saga "Twilight".

Fortunately, these are not called "Devil" and "Witch", to say something ("Demon" and "Witch"), because I fear that, although not as successfully as Edward and Isabella, more or less common and euphonic names, They would also have tried to sneak into the baby name records.

But what about these names chosen in line with a fashion and a success that will probably fall into oblivion or degenerate in a few years? Do parents regret putting those names in line with success? This is what is raised this week at Momversation.

Momversation is a website (in English) that offers online videos about motherhood and related topics: babies, sexuality, parenting ... The page also contains videos, forums and a blog. His name is the result of a play on words between "conversation" ("conversation") and "mom" ("mom"), and is that or that we find fundamentally in him are "moms conversations".

The site includes famous bloggers and other unknown moms discussing various topics. These days they ask, and I transfer this question to you, Is it appropriate to choose the names of our children following fashion?

We know that, among the most popular names, Malia and Sasha have also climbed the charts. These names correspond in this case to the daughters of US President Obama (remember that "Barack" and "Obama" are also fashion names in the United States).

Something similar happens in Spain with the names of the daughters of the Princes, Leonor and Sofia. Popular culture influences parents' decisions, and when they are more or less used names but, say, traditional, there seems to be no regret.

But what if parents choose bizarre names? The legislation tries to act by not allowing offensive cases, although the line between the offensive and what is not is sometimes difficult to establish.

And parents, in general, usually think long before making the decision that will accompany the child throughout his life (unless he decides to change his name when he grows up). Although there are always exceptions.

Do you know any case of parents who have regretted putting their children 'too fashionable' names? Are you not very happy with the name you chose for the baby?
