The Murcia town of Lorca suffered in May a great earthquake from which they are already able to recover, and daily life continues as far as possible normally. Proof of this are the activities for children that take place this summer in Lorca, a city of tradition and tourist interest that deserves a family visit.
"Lorca, time workshop", proposes an ideal visit to take children to know life in the Middle Ages. In this way the visit to the emblematic castle of Lorca is revalued and makes it more fun for children, with different and specific activities for them.
During the weekends and from Tuesday to Sunday in July they are making a theatrical guided tour "A gentleman without a Tower", with games and workshops for the whole family. In August from Monday to Sunday the theatrical visits, workshops and games continue with “Building a tower, history of a Christian fortress” (eight euros, in the Fortress of the Sun).
In September on Saturdays and Sundays there are falconry exhibits, with which the children will be in contact with a practice that combines art and nature, and the theatrical guided tour "Un Juglar en la Corte" will take place, along with games and workshops for the whole family (from 10.30 am to 8 pm euros, also in the Fortress of the Sun).
In addition, we have one day (today July 28 at 9:00 p.m.) to see "The Castle of the Stars", which for 17 euros adults, 7 children (if we buy online, or free for children if they do not want dinner) includes dinner at the stables and astronomical visit with the Astronomical Association of the Region of Murcia.
Finally we refer to the activity "Bivouac in the Castle", which although it is aimed at somewhat older children (from 10 to 13 years old), I find it especially interesting to do it myself: it is about sleeping in the Castle of Lorca and enjoying of a medieval evening with games, workshops, activities ... These evenings will take place in August on 6, 7, 20 and 21 (41 euros, dinner and breakfast included).
Also, we remind you to enter activities for children in Lorca there is the summer cinema, the tourist train and we can also see the Regional Craft Center (free admission) or stroll through the historic city and its many corners and monuments of interest.
