I love audio discounts, since I was little when some classic stories were played in the family car cassette. And today they still seem like great entertainment for my daughters, who enjoy them when we travel by car. The difference is that, following the text of the printed book that is also delivered with the newspaper, the narration is divided by the sound of a bell, an acoustic signal that marks the different fragments of the story, and that can be somewhat annoying if We only listen to the story.
On the other hand, that bell helps children who still do not know how to read to turn the page to see the drawings at the time of the narration. There are more complex activities aimed at somewhat older children, such as crosswords.
We, with two young daughters, do not listen to or read the version of the story in English, but I think it may be useful later, when they already have enough notions of the language. I also remember how I liked to read little stories in English, when I understood, of course, even if it was a dictionary in hand.
