Star stories for little astronomers

Today we want to get closer to the stars and blow up the imagination of the little ones exploring the Universe. "Star tales" is a selection of stories for little astronomers, for all those who look at the sky and want to know more.

It is an initiative of "Explore the Universe" (UNAWE), an international project that aims to awaken in children the interest in science through observation of the Universe. Of course, the doors that a story opens are enormous, also those of scientific learning.

Children through stories can make their particular trip to the stars, discover the sky and the Universe. With this spirit, and to unite the children of the Spanish-speaking world through common stories and legends, this collection of stories was born.

In this way, in the book, which can be read or downloaded online, stories of Greek and Latin mythology, Arab legends, Mayan and Aztec stories are collected ... And it is that all cultures have been fascinated by the sky and have tried to explain its immensity.

A group of volunteer astronomers from different countries of the world have been collecting the legends of their areas, thus constituting this beautiful melting pot of stories, the "Star Tales", a total of 13 stories. Some of the titles are "The dream of the gods", "The legend of Yacana", "The giant Orion", "The tale of the seven stars", "The eyes of Saint Lucia", "Algol, the demon of heaven "," The Birth of Venus "...

Beautiful stories that travel the sky from different perspectives, short stories ideal to capture the attention of the little ones, with beautiful illustrations. A theoretical addition is attached to each story in case we want to know the most realistic and scientific part of the story, which will interest the elderly.

I recommend, in these summer nights that we can sleep looking at the sky, that you read with your children any of these Nice "Star Tales" based on the myths and legends of our ancestors and that give a magical explanation to the universe. Surely your dreams will also be a little more magical ...
