Piggybackr is a crowdfunding platform for students from preschool to university

In Peques and Más we have already talked about platforms crowfunding (financing through many donors or potential buyers of the work) as Kickstarter when we present the spectacular LightUp project (and that has obtained the demanded financing). In Spain we also have initiatives such as Lánzanos, whose projects were the one that he was looking for, and finally he got and we are already waiting for the comic, financing for the Galileo comic, the messenger to the stars. What apparently did not exist was a site that facilitated obtaining financing for projects and ideas of the little ones. Until now!

And is that PiggyBackr, a project born in San Francisco and with scope in the United States, allows to help the youngest to obtain financing and also offers them support to present their projects and thus carry out their projects. Because although children can sell lemonades or candies or ballots, digital natives (or whatever you want to call children who are fluent with technology) have the capabilities and skills to use devices on the Internet that can amplify their scope of sales and get better ways to get financing.

Among the projects that are already reaching funding from Piggybackr there are Sports, Science, Clubs, Robotics, community services, etc. initiatives Many of them have obtained the financing to spare and I am sure that with other more rudimentary platforms they would not have obtained it.

Piggybackr's business model is to keep a percentage of the donation to the project which ensures its viability, especially if it becomes a reference platform.

Children under 13 need family approval to carry out campaigns in Piggybackr. From the page you can also perform other tasks such as sending emails to new donors or making a presentation video to explain and present the project. Piggybackr allows teams of solo students to present themselves although they can also do it, and it is probably the most appropriate, groups led by a tutor, a parent or a teacher.

The Internet space promoted by Piggybackr is basically a Safe place for students, of any age, in which they can learn, experiment with financing tasks and address groups of people interested in their projects in a more direct way than other social networks and of course more effective than door to door.

Investors in Piggybackr believe that the project has a journey in the United States because it can serve to unify other existing and deeply rooted initiatives, although not with its growth vocation.

We congratulate Andrea Lo, who is the co-founder and CEO at Piggybackr. In addition there are Keenahn Jung, cofounded and CTO (technology), Brittany Murlas, which is the COO (operations) and vice president.

Perhaps in Spain, and as we mentioned recently, the countries that obtain better academic results in the PISA report, are firmly committed to technological training. So this type of initiatives could be a good way to ensure that creativity, imagination and works of general interest of children can move forward.
