Seven curious facts about the Nutella

Who does not have a Nutella boat at home, or better yet, a Nocilla boat (you can tell from which side I am, no). Cocoa and hazelnut paste known internationally and present in the snacks of children from half the world since 1946.

There are many recipes made with this pasta and many more even its utilities, but I'm sure you will like any of these seven curious facts about the Nutella.

1. Napoleon and Hitler are responsible for the existence of the Nutella

In 1806, Napoleon tried to make England an economic blockade so that this caused the surrender of the British. The result was a disastrous continental blockade that caused the price of chocolate to skyrocket. It was Turin chocolatiers who began adding chopped hazelnuts to chocolate to stretch the supply as much as possible. The exquisiteness that emerged was a cocoa paste they called "gianduia."

During the Second World War the same thing happened due to the rationing of chocolate. An Italian pastry chef named Pietro Ferrero Once again he mixed the ground hazelnuts with the cocoa. It was the year 1946 and he created Pasta Gianduja, which he renamed in 1964 with the name "Nutella".

2. It is a champion breakfast today

In 2005 and on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of its creation, the largest continental breakfast was celebrated to date. A total of 27854 people enjoyed their breakfast with nutella. A whole Guiness record.

3. It is sold as churros

It is estimated that a nutella boat is sold somewhere in the world every 2.5 seconds.

4. And it is anointed and anointed.

With all the amount of nutella sold in a year and can cover 1000 football fields. (Am I the only one imagining what it would be like to play there?)

5. And everyone likes it

In 2009 Nutella confirmed that it was the third page of Facebook with more "likes", just after that of Barack Obama and Coca-Cola.

6. There is a world Nutella day

Two bloggers in Italy decided to take their love for Nutella to the next level and in 2007 they created World Nutella Day. Thus, every day February 5 is celebrated the day to eat Nutella, share recipes and memories of Nutella and look at Nutella-porn photos (no comments). In 2013, the owner of Nutella, Ferrero wanted to withdraw the day from Nutella although it seems that he reconsidered.

7. Nutella has a reputation smeared

Nutella became so popular in Italy that the markets began offering free "spreads" of Nutella to any child who appeared with a piece of bread. The phenomenon is known as "The spread", and it was a successful marketing strategy. No wonder we are all addicted.
