Furniture not secured to the wall, a danger to children

It has left me stunned to know a data on domestic accidents of the Consumer Product Safety Commission, in Spanish Consumer Safety Commission of States States: a child dies every two weeks due to accidents with furniture not secured to the wall, so I wanted to share it with you so you can take the necessary measures.

It is very common that when children begin to walk, or before, they also begin to climb everything in the house. Armchairs, chairs, tables and the rest of the furniture is likely to be scaled, especially the drawers and bookcases, in which the drawers and shelves serve as steps. This is a great danger for the little ones, since the weight can cause the furniture to come over with everything it contains, with terrible consequences.

In addition, if the furniture has a television on top, it becomes more unstable, making it easier for it to fall forward. On the other hand, over time the furniture may lose stability, especially those that we assemble at home, so we should adjust them from time to time to make sure they remain firm.

And of course, the best solution is secure potentially dangerous furniture to the wall for the little ones, especially if you are going to place the TV on top. Almost all come with an accessory to do it and if not, we can manufacture it very easily to avoid accidents.
