The Digital Photography School blog is full of information on how to improve our digital photos and its author who has recently become a dad has published a note with 10 tricks to take pictures of babies.
- In the first days of the baby's life one tends to document the baby's first moments instead of portraits.
- One of the biggest challenges when photographing a baby is to get the best angle, some tips that help to achieve it, is to lower its level, use a lens that allows you to make a close up without needing to bring the camera too close to the baby's face, take pictures while they are loading it.
- If the camera has a Macro function, use it to photograph details such as a hand, foot, mouth or ear.
- Identify the moments of the day that make the baby happy to be able to capture them with the camera.
- Always keep the camera at hand.
- Take pictures on a regular basis, babies change day by day especially in the first months of life.
- Do not be afraid to retouch some photos with some digital photo editing program.
- Consider converting some photos to black and white.
- Use indirect light.
- Remember that the idea is not only to create images of the baby, but to create memories with the baby.
