Increase in voluntary abortions in Spain

Sadly, according to official data released by the Ministry of Health, in 2005 the number of voluntary terminations of pregnancy has increased by almost 8% (IVE) that were carried out in Spain with respect to the previous year.

Despite this, it remains one of the countries with the least incidence in the European Union and less than in the United States or Canada.

Many do not understand what can make a woman make that decision, as the Minister of Health said "no woman wants to abort", but the truth is that more and more people who for one reason or another decide to undergo an abortion.

Some data from the report to reflect: 92,000 abortions, 9.6 women of every 1,000 of childbearing age, where they have been most performed: in Madrid and the Balearic Islands; the majority, in single women between 20 and 30 years old, without children, without previous abortions, half of them immigrants.

From associations such as AVA (Association of Victims of Abortion) the lack of information about the side effects of abortion, about its psychic and physical consequences, is considered, considering those who practice it as victims before the helplessness of an unexpected pregnancy or with some complication .

This is what associations see as assuming that all women are forced to abort, even they describe abortion as "the most frequent type of domestic violence".

I say that in some cases it may be so, but in others the decision will be freely made by each woman.
