Could the origin of preeclampsia be in the male genes?

An investigation that has been developed since 2005 with the support of the Sectorial Fund of the National Council of Science and Technology of Mexico, seeks to discover what is the reason for preeclampsia, had focused on the study of women, have evaluated the genetic material of babies and now they are going to investigate whether the paternal genetic load influences or participates in the onset of pregnancy preeclampsia.

The placenta has an important genetic load of the future dad, so you should know if it contributes to the development of preeclampsia. The study carried out by doctors of the ISSSTE (Institute of Security and Social Services of State Workers), headed by the geneticist of the National Medical Center November 20, Carlos Galaviz, also investigates the presence and effects that certain genes may have on the fixation of the placenta to the uterus, since it seems that the incorrect fixation of the placenta can be caused by an inadequate regulation of certain genes and restricts the flow of blood that reaches the baby.

The specialist indicates that first-time moms are the most prone to preeclampsia because it is the first time they are exposed to the genetic burden of the future dad, and that in the second pregnancy the woman already recognizes the genetics of her partner and does not return to develop preeclampsia. It would not be the same case if the second pregnancy is not the same male.
