Breakfast with the children, you have to spend at least 20 minutes

Since we were little we have heard our mothers say that having a good breakfast is very important, we transmit the same to our children, but it is not only about instilling a good habit, but about setting an example and sharing it. There are many parents who leave home with coffee with drunk milk, the lack of time is not enough and although we think not, our children will end up doing the same.

At the Congress of the Spanish Society of Basic and Applied Nutrition (SENBA) held in Bilbao, nutrition experts call again that parents make a small effort (as long as time and schedules allow) and get up 20 minutes before to share them with the children at the table and start the day with a nutritious breakfast.

The Congress is dedicated to the diseases that can lead to a bad diet, to the quality of the meals offered in hospital centers, to the improvement of the eating habits of the entire population, etc., and began by suggesting a great truth, "Adequate nutrition in childhood is a powerful element of disease prevention for adults". In the study on Children's Breakfast Habits it was clear that the majority of children spend five minutes at breakfast and abuse industrial pastries without the healthy foods that make up a nutritious breakfast, dairy, cereals and fruits. It is also evident that children who eat breakfast with their parents enjoy breakfast more and eat much better.

A recommendation of nutritionist Javier Aranceta, is that the night before we leave the breakfast table prepared with cups and cutlery, fruits and cereals ... what we save in morning preparations we will gain by sharing with our children, in addition to a good framework Always invite you to enjoy more.
