The Alicia Foundation teaches 300 children to cook

The Alicia Foundation is dedicated exclusively to gastronomic research, to the dissemination of healthy and adequate eating habits and now also, to teach 300 children aged between 3 and 12 to cook. This is an initiative carried out in Pozuelo de Alarcón (Madrid) and the main objective is for children to learn how easy it is to eat properly if fruits and vegetables are used.

The children prepared various skewers with fruits such as bananas, strawberries or mango, combined with some vegetables and spices. The truth is that it is important to involve children in the kitchen to accept food to a greater degree, it is a way of eliminating, as they say in the news published in the newspaper El País, the “disgusts” absurd to certain vegetables. The children enjoyed the classes taught by the two chefs belonging to the Alicia Foundation, we must bear in mind that this foundation is endorsed by a large number of prestigious Spanish chefs among which are Ramón Freixa, Carme Ruscalleda, Joan Roca, etc., in addition, his presidency is starred by the prestigious chef and number one from the world Ferrán Adrià.

Jaume Biarnés Digon and Marc Puig-Pey already starred on other occasions similar days with Catalan children, although not with as many as in this special class for Madrid children, the two chefs were very satisfied with the behavior and concerns that the children presented .

Initiatives such as this contribute to children learning to eat properly, laying the foundations for healthy and balanced eating is a very important task that we all must perform, we hope to be able to witness new initiatives of this nature that will gradually reduce the problem of overweight and childhood obesity.
