The European Commission will review the toy control mechanisms

In the end it will turn out that video games are less dangerous than other toys for children. Seriously, how many children could be affected by the products of the Mattel factory ?, Although toy manufacturers claim that it is necessary to ingest very large amounts of lead to suffer damage, we are in a developed country and in the century XXI, those risks should not be taken. As we have already mentioned, it is the third time in just over a month that thousands of their toys must be removed from the market because they are toxic.

In this regard, the European Commission has reaffirmed today that the Community control systems for products marketed in the EU are reliable, but that consumers must also take extreme precautions and, above all, disregard imitations (so that later the brands are dangerous ).

Over the next two months the European Commission will carry out a “double control” exercise on the safety of products that will reach consumers in general and children in particular. Work groups will meet and be held with all the links in the chain to verify its operation and the safety measures taken will be reviewed. Meglena Kuneva, European Commissioner for Consumer Protection will meet with the Commissioners of Commerce, Customs and Industry to review the toy directive and strengthen safety rules. He also states that cooperation with China should be done, in October the EU-China alert system that was recently established will be assessed. But our question is, how can we be sure that we are buying toys that are not harmful to the health of our children?
