The sociability of the baby and his temper

Each baby has its own temperament that manifests from an early age as well as the way of relating to others. The baby's temper begins to develop and manifest at two months of age.

There are babies who smile and "talk" with all people, known or unknown, others are more shy. They don't smile or interact with those they don't know very well.

Some are shy and embarrassing that hide among the mother when they are in front of strangers. It is said that shyness is also a matter of temperament. However, the ability and ease of interacting with others is something that also depends on experience, because with practice, a shy child can progressively become a little more sociable.

The relationships established between parents and children are undoubtedly very strong. At nine months, the relationship between them is quite remarkable, especially with the mother.

There is something that is part of the close relationship between mother and child: the so-called "separation anxiety." This is a characteristic that manifests itself after eight months of age, then disappears and has a new boom at 18 months. As a general rule it fades to about three years, but it arises again when the child enters kindergarten. Although babies' social abilities begin to develop early, the little ones observe and approach other children, but they don't get used to interacting with each other until 24 months.

Normally, from that age they try to establish relationships with their peers. It is very important that children get used to having early contact with other infants, as it allows them to develop their social and integration abilities to a group.

However, it is also natural that babies do not interact very closely, and may show aggressiveness with other children. Aggression is normal between twelve and twenty-four months, is the way they have to show their dislike. Do not ignore it and help them to channel this behavior.

The relationships of babies with other people who are not parents, depends a lot on whether they were used or not to interact with others.

If a baby is shy, he should not be forced to relate when he does not want to. He must be allowed to become habituated gradually so that over time he gains confidence in himself and others.
