Termination for pregnancy, void in any workplace

From Babies and more we are against any kind of discrimination against pregnant women, however, from time to time, news of improper dismissals for this cause come to our pages.

I don't know what strange emptiness or legal archaism allowed domestic workers to work without the protection of the Equality Law. However, a sentence has given reason to common sense and has declared void the dismissal of a domestic worker for being pregnant.

For the first time this Law of Equality has been applied to domestic service, what saddens me is that it has taken so long to see the light in this case, because surely before there were many others who have been silenced, in the same way that they are silenced Many others in various fields. Clearly the dismissal of a pregnant woman is a direct discrimination because of sex, for what is illegal, the woman is working in any place.

At least from now on, many women workers in the sector in the same situation will know what to do when faced with a case of discrimination, although it remains a particularly vulnerable work environment due to the legal framework that governs it, which has become obsolete.

Hopefully this news of dismissals for pregnancy or maternal mobbing will decrease day by day, although unfortunately no work environment is free, at the moment, of this discrimination.
