Decrease the cost of families with babies

The crisis reaches all areas of society, and of course, in the family we have also had to review our priorities, adjust our belts and, why not, learn to take advantage and "recycle" better. A study has proven that families with babies under three years spent 3% less on children's products in 2008 as a result of the crisis.

This decrease has been mainly due to the decrease in textile spending, and it seems that we take more advantage of children's clothing, or circulate more clothes that can pass from siblings or cousins to little ones ... The case is that purchases Children's clothing has been reduced by 4%.

But nevertheless, child food expenditure increased, reaching almost 90 euros quarterly. If we stop to make accounts, surely in food you can save: white marks, more homemade products, breastfeeding ...

The report concludes with the products of children's drugstore, perfumery and minor equipment, which in this case remained stable compared to 2007, representing 18%, 8% and 2% of the budget for babies. The diapers stand out, as always, with an average expenditure of 68.4 euros per quarter.

The total figures say that we spent 335 euros in baby items in 2008, compared to 346 euros in 2007. I think it's a good time to review the decalogue for rational consumption in the care of our children.
