Get on the Internet train, activities in Madrid

Tomorrow Sunday May 17, World Internet Day is celebrated, and in many places related events are held. With the motto "Get on the internet train", the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and for the Information Society has organized several activities in a tent installed in Madrid, in which children attend a computerized classroom or adults learn to manage with the administration.

This is a project of the public company Red.es, under the Ministry of Industry, which on the occasion of the celebration of Internet Day, invites us to discover what the Network can offer to anyone, regardless of age or condition.

For children we have a very special stop, the Station "Chaval.es". It is a space dedicated to the youngest and the chaval.es project, a website promoted by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce that offers secure content adapted to minors. In this station various activities for children will be carried out with the help of touch computers.

We also recommend a stop at the "Avanza playing" station, the most playful carp station. A space dedicated to video games and online gaming where you can also find classic games.

The event joins the set of initiatives that the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce continuously develops within the Avanza2 Plan to contribute to the promotion and development of the Information Society in our country, as is the case of the agreement we were talking about yesterday, by which the different Internet operating companies were going to report on their bills the safe connection for children. The activities scheduled for Internet Day also have the co-financing of the European Regional Development Fund

The Exhibition "Get on the Internet train" It can be visited during this weekend at Avenida de Felipe II in Madrid, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The entrance and participation in the activities will be totally free.
