Carpets and stuffed animals, outside nurseries to prevent influenza A

The Spanish Ministry of Health and Social Policy has just published the second version of the recommendations to prevent influenza A in schools, with the necessary hygiene measures. In this case, in addition to the previous recommendations, it is recommended not to have carpets, floor mats, or stuffed animals.

The recommendation is for nursery schools and other early childhood care centers, to avoid a possible increase in influenza A infections among children. We have it in the guide entitled "General Criteria for Action against Pandemic Influenza A (H1N1) in the School Field", which can be consulted from the Ministry's website.

It insists that the intensification of hygiene measures in students and school staff (teachers, monitors, service or cleaning staff ...), as well as in the school grounds, are essential for the prevention of new flu A.

In the Guide it is said that if you have stuffed animals and carpets, the cleaning should be extreme and should not be shaken when cleaning them, because the possible viruses installed in them could be spread. In addition, cleaning will take place throughout the school at least once a day, paying maximum attention to tables and chairs, door knobs, light switches, telephones, bells, school and teaching materials, shared classrooms, keyboards and computer mice and toilets.

At another point, the guideline indicates that when the diaper change For children, the area in which it is made before and after the change should be cleaned, although another option could be to use disposable paper to cover the stretchers or changing tables.

It is also recommended to pay maximum attention to pacifiers, bottles, teethers, wind instruments and cutlery, so that they do not exchange them with each other. Similarly, the Ministry insists on the distance of desks and cribs, the daily ventilation of classrooms and school buses.

At the moment, with the course already started, we have not had unpleasant surprises about it, but just in case following recommendations to prevent influenza A is important, and more in schools Where are the little ones? Of course, we can also prevent at home, and there is also a guide on the Ministry's website that we will talk about later.
