An English woman sells breast milk online

It is clear that at this point in life there are few things that can surprise us, so I will not say that this news seems strange, novel or surprising but, in fact, I am surprised that there are no more mothers who have tried to do business with your milk

The fact is that these days the news of an English woman, Toni Ebdon, who saw that she was starting to store her milk, decided to sell it online.

Apparently this woman had to start using a breast pump to relieve the discomfort caused by excess production and, at the comment of a friend, who said something like "you look like a dairy," it occurred to Toni that I could sell the surplus to other people.

He put an ad on the website Gumtree and soon he began to receive e-mails of clients, in many cases men, who apparently took it to be in good health and fight disease.

The truth is that despite the fact that the news has appeared in many media, the woman has sold only a liter and a half of her milk. The price of it is 18 euros for every 240 milliliters.

When the news is known, Gumtree has removed the ad. The spokesperson of the page has explained that "The ad violates the rules of the web and was withdrawn as soon as we knew it".

The truth is that she is not the first woman who tries to do business with her milk, nor will she probably be the last. The idea is not all bad, because if you have enough left over and you will end up throwing it away (we throw a lot of milk when our second child was born because in the hospitals of my city there is no possibility of donation), there may always be someone interested in it . The problem is that breast milk that goes to other babies, just like cow's milk, must pass some previous checks (There are women who are candidates to donate and others who are not) and must be pasteurized.

In other words, should not afford (and that's why the ad was removed) sell or buy breast milk that has not been previously controlled. Ethical aspects are another song that should also be valued, of course.
