There is nothing like turning the pages of a book to enjoy reading, drawings, touch and smell of paper ... The project (ICDL, "International Children's Digital Library"), of Anglo-Saxon origin, now incorporates a section in Spanish (although there are still some sections to be translated) that includes many books that we can read without being registered.
There are also free applications for iPhone and iPad, and we can search for material by age, language, gender, theme and book size.
At the moment there are about 200 books in Spanish, Stories for all ages, some classics like "Juan without fear" and other tales of modern authors, and many illustrated books with beautiful children's drawings.
This is a research project funded mainly by the NSF (National Science Foundation), the IMLS (Institute for Museum and Library Services: Institute for Museum and Library Services) and Microsoft Research.
The collection is basically constituted by materials that help children understand the world around them and the global society in which they live, showing the similarities and differences in different cultures, societies, interests and lifestyles of the peoples of the world.
The idea is to have 10,000 materials in at least 100 languages, with a group of recipients that includes children between three and thirteen years of age, in addition to the elderly, teachers, parents and caregivers who have children of these ages. The images are of good quality, which allows us to move through the pages of the stories without problems.
