Extracurricular for children under six years?

Decide on the convenience or choose an extracurricular activity for children under six This is an issue that parents ask all courses, whether or not they take their children to school.

The truth is that children do not need extracurricular activities in a general way, and that, the decision should depend on their wishes although, sometimes, it is also an issue that depends more on the parents' working hours.

When they are older and the child expresses interest in some sport or cultural activity, of course, extracurriculars will be useful, always, of course, that we do not turn their agenda into something so tight that we do not leave them free time to think, play or get to know each other to themselves. Having free time is very educational and allows us to delve into ourselves.

For children, their well-being, their physical, cognitive and emotional development there are two essential things: being with their parents and being able to enjoy free play. Before making decisions about extracurricular students, we must be clear that both bases are being sufficiently attended, and, truthfully, with long school and work days, there will never be enough game or enough to be with parents.

What are the main Disadvantages of out-of-school children? The dirismo and the closed doors. Few activities that are offered are based on the real needs of children: freedom and presence of their attachment figures. Normally the presence of parents is prevented, either as observers who can comfort their child if they need them, or as co-participants.

Nor are there many activities that allow the child to freely experiment, something indispensable at an early age and above all, if they have spent the day doing things already directed at school.

There is advantages? Yes of course. In winter it gets dark very soon, parents work, houses are small and it will always be better to do a fun activity than to stand in front of the TV. In addition, although they are directed, it is intended that extracurriculars for children are participatory and leave their plot to freedom, especially if we choose music and movement, foretelling or, and that would be wonderful, traditional games or playful workshops.

Early childhood is a time of games and hugs. And for that it takes time. Playing with our children is the best of the extracurriculars we can program. And when they are older, remember that extracurriculars should be freely chosen by the child and always keep in mind before programming that children need several hours a day, but, while they are young, it is better to consider that the priority must be the game and not the extracurricular ones.
