A few days ago I told you about the phenomenon that is occurring in England, where some couples abort one of their babies to avoid having multiple pregnancies. By writing that entry I accessed the data regarding abortion in Spain in 2010 and I realized that a phenomenon that I already highlighted a few years ago is still happening.
As I say in the entry title, more than 750 women aborted in 2010 for the sixth time voluntarilyAt least, because the statistical data says, exactly, "5 times or more" (previous abortions).
The specific figure is 768 women which, in my view, are many women. It is true that it is all of Spain, but it is the sixth time they have voluntarily aborted (I repeat it as an exclamation of fact). The issue is that if we take a closer look at the statistics, we see that there are few precisely those who aborted for the fifth time.
In the same year 2010, 886 women voluntarily interrupted their pregnancy for the fifth time, 2,669 women did it for the fourth time and 8,155 did it for the third time.
In the global calculation, which are 113,031 total abortions in 2010, the figures are not exorbitant, but if we add all the women we see that 12,478, just over 10% of the total, are women who had already aborted at least twice before.
This data, without a doubt, is to stop to think, at least a few minutes. Until that year the reasons for abortions were difficult to screen, because whatever the reason was, most explained the basis for "risk to maternal health." As of July 5, 2010, when Organic Law 2/2010 entered into force, there was no need for an abortion, so statistics vary adding as cause "at the request of women."
That is, a woman can currently abort as many times as she wants if she requests it, although in my view something is failing if this happens.
Under normal conditions the chances of getting pregnant with a relationship is 25%. This means that six abortions do not equal six sex with forgetfulness of a pill, condom breakage or even hot of the moment, but they are derived from six pregnancies fruit of a much greater number of sexual relations without any protection, when deep down you do not want to get pregnant. Each draw their own conclusions.
Regarding the type of women who get to abort six or more times, in case you are doing caballas, say that, of the 768 women, 336 live together and have their own income, 200 live together without their own income, 133 do not live together couple and have their own income and 76 do not live together or have their own income.
I am not in favor of abortion, because I would not do it, but I am not against it either, because it is not something that should criminalize women. However, getting to have an abortion six or more times is, for me, a lack of respect for the system and, above all, a lack of respect for your own body, something quite serious from my point of view.
