One-click risk behavior prevention

The Drug Addiction Assistance Foundation has designed a program aimed at teachers of Infant, Primary and Secondary, and oriented to the prevention of risk behaviors in children.

It is called 'Build your world' and contains more than one hundred educational activities with free access. I know that it may be important for teachers to have this type of resources collected in a single web space, because sometimes they want to introduce transversely Health Education content. The extensive experience that the FAD has in the design and implementation of preventive programs has been collected. In 'Build your world' the educational community will find action proposals aimed at students between 3 and 16 years of age, adapted to each level and designed to be both useful and applicable, as motivating and interesting.

The key is to contribute to developing in children and adolescents a autonomous, critical and reflexive personality. It is based on the conviction that positive and prosocial values, which promote active and participatory positions in the social environment, are related to healthier and more risk-free lifestyles, especially when educating them from an early age.

The intention of the new program is to reinforce prevention actions, updating them, making them more audiovisual, interesting, attractive and functional.

The program is fully accessible from the internet. However, the website is prepared to expand the amount and depth of the preventive action provided in various lines (training, tutoring and online support, personalized forums, local network platform, complementary materials, etc.).

Currently, the problem of drug use has nothing to do with what originated years ago, so intervention programs must be diversified to serve the population that consumes or is at risk of using

And for this we must attend as a priority to the dominant values and models, to the subjects, their expectations, their interests, their relationship with the environment, their life, their abilities ... because all those elements will determine what their relationship with drugs and, on the other hand, with the rest of risk behaviors that you can develop.

Therefore If you are a teacher, social educator, monitor or trainer of complementary programs, and would like to work these contents with your group of students, maybe this is your website. And if it isn't, it may become a starting point.
