Last week's question

Last week we wanted to know how you will celebrate Halloween with the kids, since it is a party that little by little, and increasingly, there is a gap between our culture.

The answers chosen by you as the most significant have been deandorra2004, who told us that:

But is there really something to celebrate on Halloween? I do not deny that for the Celtic primitive cultures it was a time of fuss and movement, but it was not a party, it was to scare and keep away the dead who could rise from the grave and disturb the living. The Anglo-Saxons have turned it into a party, but I see it artificial and brought by the hair to raise it as a party in Spain. Sorry to take the opposite (it seems to be my custom), but the import of American customs seems to me very unattractive.

And also the calistaalvir who, meanwhile, told us:

I think I already mentioned it here. My mother was born in the year 52 in a small town of La Alcarria, in Guadalajara, where there was no light, no running water until very recently. And she remembers that for the saints they put candles inside pumpkins and left the town to scare, like a game. The name of Halloween will be Anglo-Saxon, but part of the tradition takes more time in our country than we think.
