Send the name of your little one to Mars in the MAVEN mission

He Maven project (Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution Mission) from NASA intends to know what happened to the atmosphere of Mars. To do this, it will analyze the farthest layers of the planet such as the ionosphere and the interactions with the solar wind trying to know why carbon dioxide, nitrogen, oxygen and hydrogen have so little presence on Mars.

The ship in charge of carrying out the project will be launched, if everything goes according to the planned program, on November 18, 2013. From the page they have created to explain the project, they have prepared a lot of information and especially leave the opportunity for them to be sent our names to the planet (like the one in the picture). In addition you can also send a haiku.

From the pages of Maven you can send the name and a message in the form of haiku. The haiku will be chosen after a selection process among all readers of the page.

At home we have sent the name of the father and the daughter to be sent to Mars. In order for children to participate, you only have to register a senior who, once identified, can send the names you want in addition to the message, in English, in haiku format: three verses with the characteristic that the first and third parties have The same number of syllables. The haiku will be selected by vote and can also be read on the website. The process of receiving names and messages ends on July 1, 2013, so there is still time to participate.

He name and selected messages will be written on a DVD that will travel to Mars.
