He Doctor Smile Kit includes, with medical rigor and with accessible language, the most appropriate ways of acting in situations and habitual pathologies in the child or adolescent. The challenge is, whenever possible, that parents can make use of the briefcase and can get Dr. Smile inside to put a touch of humor and make the little ones forget about their discomfort for a while. The kit contains practical advice to care for the little ones and includes a compilation of informative texts on child and youth health written by the Spanish Association of Primary Care Pediatricians. It also includes a clown nose and approved sanitary material and with a touch of humor because it includes medicines that children should really use in the Hospital: strips, hahajas, esparatato and guantrés.
With the sale of each kit, it can be ensured that there will be a visit from Doctor Smile to a hospitalized child. Currently, Theodora Foundation has 30 Smile Doctors who individually visit patients admitted to hospital centers. They also accompany children and their families before and after being surgically operated in order to reduce the physical and emotional stress that occurs at this time. We remember that Theodora Foundation was born in March 2000 in Spain. At the beginning it was a team of three Smile Doctors in Spain that began visiting the children hospitalized at the San Carlos Clinical Hospital and at the Niño Jesús Hospital in Madrid.
