I propose to celebrate Valentine's Day by reading stories about the love of children

I have brought you a selection of stories about Love so that you can read with your children tomorrow, Valentine's Day. It is a date set for couples, although true love is shown every day, but is not the one we feel for our children older?

If you continue reading you will find explanations about love, experienced love, love of fathers and mothers, love forever, and love as the origin of a new life. They are, in any case, proposals to enjoy reading and hugging our kids.

Love forever

  • 'Grandparents' written by Chema Heras and edited by Kalandraka. It is a love story with a lot of tenderness, which shows that the passage of time leaves traces on the skin but not in relationships, Manuel and Manuela prepare to go to a dance. A beautiful story that you will love to share with the children.
An album for children - about the elderly - that has no age
  • 'Someday', by Alison McGhee and published by RBA. This story tests sensitive moms and dads ... the baby born one day is destined to 'fly' as the years go by, but even during his own old age he will remember the woman who gave him life.
  • 'The journey of the butterflies', by Paula Carbonell edited by OQO. A caterpillar accepts the company of a series of insects on its way from orange to lemon (this year it has been proposed to arrive). Once in his destiny the companions of the protagonist protect him from different dangers, and she (or he, perhaps) meet another of the same species just before making the cocoon where metamorphosis will occur.
Once turned into a butterfly, she reunites with what will be her definitive companion (she has also become) and they will dance / flutter together that and all the other nights

This story takes me to the time when I still had two babies (36 and 10 months) at home and a multitude of mixed feelings made my emotions vibrate, I am very fond of the story.

Is there love more intense than what you feel for your children?

  • 'Mom, what color are kisses?', by Elisenda Queralt (in Imaginarium). A story about the infinite and unconditional love that a mother feels for her little son. The kisses are of every color imaginable, and according to our mood they have some or other functions.
Each of the kisses of different colors, will call your senses if you read this book, you will see
  • The essential 'Guess how much I love you', by Sam Mc Bratney, in Kokinos publishing house. Love cannot be measured although the little hare tries to show her mother that she loves her more. If our children told us 'I love you until the moon', we would probably answer the same as the mother of this nice and jumping animal: Well, I 'til the moon back and forth'.

  • 'Where we come from?' (written by Peter Mayle and published by Maeva Young) is a very careful book about the human conception that serves to talk about sexuality with our children clearly (and without blushing), although it also explains that a baby is born the fruit of love.

What is love for children?

  • 'Love is like cheese', is not missing in our review Gerónimo Stilton who knows during a trip to a little rat that falls in love with him, will it be reciprocated?
  • 'In love', written by Rébecca Dautremer. It is a very nice story that summarizes in a perfect language for children all the questions that the kids usually ask about 'what is love?' or 'how does one feel when you fall in love?'. I think girls will like it better than they do (although boys may wish to have answers to those questions without saying so openly.

This is my small contribution so that you enjoy love and reading in equal parts. Happy Valentine's Day!
