If you still don't know Birke Baehr, you will like his ability to convey ideas about agriculture and food

Birke Baehr is now 14 years old and defines himself as an organic farmer, with only nine years he began studying sustainable and organic farming practices, and soon realized that he was also destined to educate other young people like him about alternatives to the industrialized food system.

The video that you will see below is a talk presented at the TEDx Next Generation Asheville (three years ago) in which we see a Birke who with 11 expresses himself perfectly, and shows us a lot of awareness towards the natural world and good food .

Criticism of intensive agriculture is more than evident, while defending organic food production at the local level.

This is not a space to talk about food technologies, nor to make arguments for or against transgenic foods. It surprises me rather the ability of this guy to convey an idea that many of us have in mind: 'the need to know the origin of the food we eat, and recognize the role of those who are in the first link, and thanks to those who eat'.

This child has traveled through the United States and Italy while visiting organic farms, has also attended workshops and seminars, in an effort to complete a training that he seems to have decided himself. Surely long before the age of nine he already showed interest in the subject, and I can assure you that many older children have no idea what are the basic foods that make up their daily meals.

The talk "What's wrong with our food system" has more than 1,300,000 views, has its own website, and has published 'Birke on the farm', a children's book full of passion for organic farming and sustainability of the planet.
