What was the Primark case? Something good has come up

The injustices give anger, but that much. But when they serve to improve, to move forward, we realize that it is worth it to face them. In case you do not remember, last month Primark made the nursing mothers angry (and very much) by throwing a mother who was breast-feeding her baby in one of her stores.

As a result, many mothers joined through social networks to support this mother (and other mothers also discriminated in their stores), while they decided to make a massive "tetada" at the door of several establishments in Spain (which was then in a family reunion) to claim their right to feed their babies wherever they wanted. But it hasn't all been there. If you wonder what was the Primark caseI can tell you that something good has come up.

Primark apologized

The silence of the company was very striking before the commotion that was forming those days. But finally on September 4 (the events happened on August 10), apologies arrived.

Carmen Vega, the mother who had been thrown out of the Valladolid store for breastfeeding her baby received a letter from the company's General Director with the relevant apologies for the incident.

Apart from that, Primark has decided to change the company policy and its employees have indications of not expel women who breastfeed In their establishments.

Lactancia en Libertad is born

That the company has apologized and that the company policy changes in that sense, has been a great achievement, but it is only the beginning. A first step for something new to be born: Breastfeeding in Freedom.

It is a movement formed by a group of fathers and mothers who have decided to unite to fight against the barriers that prevent breastfeeding in public.

Lactancia en Libertad was created to get a law that protects nursing mothers so that they can feed their children in public, like the one in countries like the United Kingdom, and that recognize the right of children to be fed anywhere, public or private, above any right of admission.

Of course, also to support other women who are discriminated against for breastfeeding in public. If you want to contribute your grain of sand, you can help by adding signatures to the cause on the organization's website.

Just as Babies and more joined the discriminated mothers and we applaud the protest of the families, we also want to support this new project wishing it would be legally recognized soon the right to breastfeed in public.
