Always use the child restraint system in the car, even on short journeys

I think at this point there is no doubt that the safety of children in the car is paramount and they always have to travel with adequate restraint systems.

Parents are quite clear about this concept when talking about long trips, but not so much on urban journeys, so it is time to remember that you have to always use the child restraint system in the car, even on short journeys.

The DGT has registered that short trips in the city are the most critical when registering less use of the device. A total of 52 children died in traffic accidents in urban and interurban areas last year, of which 15 were not using the seat.

Of the 36 children who died in the interurban route, 11 were not using the chair, while 4 children who died in urban accidents were not carrying it, so according to statistics, of the 15 deceased children who did not have an adequate retention system, 12 could have been saved. Seen like that sounds loud, right?

To raise awareness of its use, the DGT has launched the campaign 'With the safety of children you don't play', which will go to the exit of some schools in Madrid to teach parents to use it correctly. It will also feature posters, radio broadcasts, and even a mobile application to encourage its good use.

Many times because of laziness, because they are just a few streets, because we are in 5 minutes, parents move from placing the child in the safety seat accordingly. But we must not tempt fate for nonsense, therefore, even if it takes you two more minutes always use the child restraint system in the car, even on short journeys.
