Five tips to stay cool this summer

We could sum it up in two unique tips: stay close to the air conditioner or travel to colder latitudes, but you will surely hit me saying that if the polluting gases or how far away is Lapland from the beach, if they don't put "Blue Summer" or They don't know how to prepare a paella.

So today we bring Five tips to keep us cool this summer.

If you are pregnant, the expectation of spending your last trimester of pregnancy at an average temperature of 35 degrees may not be all flattering, it is more, probably some weigh the idea that the baby is born seven months (if you have thought about it, forget it, there are better solutions against heat). The first thing is to accept that you carry a bag of hot water of several liters inside and that although it comes phenomenal in the cold winter nights, it is not the best to carry on summer nights, not to mention the evening errands with 30 degrees to the shadow.

If you are a baby, well, we may not know what you think about spending your first summer in the shade, but it is clear that the heat doesn't feel good to many.

The first thing to keep in mind is meet our friends, which will be: water, other fresh liquids, salads, shopping malls and official buildings, horse chestnuts and plantains.

Y our enemies: the sun, the excessive concentration of human beings in enclosures, copious meals, alcohol and guinea pig sofas.

Well, once acquainted with each other, theirs would be to approach the former and avoid the latter. I know, saying it is easy but another thing is to be able to comply.

Avoid plastic chairs or similar

Do you remember when you were little and you started watching TV on the grandfather's couch, what happened when you got up? Half epidermis I left in them. Well that is the effect that can cause the plastic fabrics of many chairs in summer, although it is true that less and less are those that are not covered with breathable materials.

Many times we put plastic mattress covers in the cribs of our babies or in the beds of the elderly who are in the process of learning to leave the diaper. It is better to place soaps that perspire a little better.

Travel cots can have mattresses whose outer fabric is plastic. If so, it is best to place a towel between the cloth and the sheet.

Move the essentials in the hottest hours

If you are pregnant, try not to make too much effort, or better yet, no effort during the hottest daylight hours. Try to have someone do it for you or do whatever you have to do first thing in the morning or after seven in the afternoon. If during the previous months you used to go for a run or walk in the middle of the morning it is better that you get up a little more early now and don't wait for friend Lorenzo to direct you in the neck.

It is not good for children too much exercise in full sun and with high temperatures, they are in danger of sunstroke or shock. The children already sweat simply with blinking, at least mine, so let's try to propose quieter activities during those hours, board games, paintings, it could even be a good opportunity to allow them those moments of game with consoles or television that both Like them, though, they should be interspersed with other types of entertainment.

Hydration, hydration and more hydration

Remember that in summer our best friend is water, in all its modalities. A bottle of water should be a "must" as the English say, that is, something that comes with us yes or yes. Drinking makes us sweat more, it is true, but let's not forget that sweat is the defense mechanism against our body's heat and one of the dangers we face is a possible dehydration.

If the water becomes very tasteless we can prepare a delicious homemade lemonade.

Beware of industrial ice cream and its high sugar content, a good alternative would be to prepare our own homemade ice cream.

Chill

A little point with this sweat. It has been shown that sweating does not produce a significant thinning since as soon as we return to drink everything lost is recovered, therefore avoid and return to the previous point, exercise in the hours of maximum sun so that "so you sweat more ", because the only thing that is achieved is that you get a lipotimia and look like Heidi after having passed with the UVA rays.

If the heat starts to be annoying you can put a scarf for a few minutes in the freezer, after time you take it out and put it around your neck. Also massaging the ankles, legs and abdomen with ice reduces the sensation of heat and relieves swollen feet after a long day.

If we can't sleep, a trick we can use is to put the pillow in the fridge or freezer as we did with the scarf above. The problem with this is that you either have an industrial refrigerator or a very small pillow and an empty refrigerator.

The pool or the beach, a great friend: Probably many children will agree with me. Nothing better in the summer than a cool bath to lower the thermal sensation and if you are pregnant, to relieve that excess weight a bit.

Nebulizers to create environment: Having a good fogging system that maintains a pleasant temperature at home is not within reach of all budgets, but if making a homemade one with spray cans or "fru fru" that we call in my house, you can find anywhere at all one euro. You fill them with cold water and you have them in the areas of the house where you usually are.

Wear clothes made of natural and light fabrics

Try wearing cotton or linen clothes, breathable and lightweight. That you can not shame, at home get as comfortable as you want, do not give explanations to anyone. Even being naked or in underwear at home can teach your children that our body is not something to hide and that there are situations that are perfectly normal to which we should not give much importance.
