LG KizON: a new wrist device to have children located at all times

The advancement of technology, the miniaturization of the circuits and the decrease in costs is making us see electronic solutions that a few years ago seemed unthinkable within the reach of the user on foot and, in this case, of the families.

You all know that you are parents that one of our greatest fears is losing a child. Losing it, or losing it. Either because he has left of his own accord, either because of the dismissal of an adult. Last year, without going any further, a child from my son's school gave an incredible fright to everyone because at the time of leaving at noon he left without anyone making sure he stayed with an adult. The boy down the street, walking towards his house (we imagine) and the grandfather, who arrived later, waiting at the door of the school. The mother of another school boy saw him alone and, surprised, decided to accompany him back to the school door.

Well, for such cases, for those moments when our hearts shrink from forced marches and we begin to fear the worst, LG has devised KizON, a new wristband device to have children located at all times, since it works with GPS.

How does the KizOn work

It is designed for preschool and elementary school children and uses GPS and Wi-Fi technology to provide real-time information on where the child is, by sending the information to a smartphone.

In addition, if you look at the gadget, it has a button that they have called "One Step Direct Call" or Direct Call in one step, with which Children can dial a pre-configured phone number. Similarly, you can receive calls, which are answered with the same button. If after 10 seconds the child does not press the button answering one of the numbers that have permission to call him (everything is configured from the mobile) the microphone of the KizOn will automatically connect so that parents can hear the ambient sound of the place where they are the child.

In addition to being able to see when parents want the child's location, there is the possibility to configure the device to go sending the location at specific times throughout the day. Something like receiving notifications on the mobile, every hour, where the child is.

Device features

He Kizon It has a 400 mAh battery, which may seem small, but that is enough to get a duration of 36 hours. When less than 25% of the battery remains, send a notice to the parent's mobile. The strap is made of a resistant material and the question I have is if it can get wet. From LG they say that the strap is resistant to water and dirt, but I don't know if it is an extensible feature to the electronic device. It is available in three colors, blue, pink and green and goes on sale today in South Korea. In America and Europe will arrive by the end of this year. The price is not yet known.

Our opinion about it

It is not the first of the devices that appears with that intention and I do not know if it will be the best, but it seems that it perfectly fulfills its mission. Through GPS, Wi-Fi and 2G / 3G networks It allows to give the location and send and receive calls. The size still seems a bit large for children's dolls and this could be a bit annoying depending on what games. In reference to its resistance, as I say, it would be necessary to know if it can get wet, because one of the most interesting uses is now in summer, when many make summer colonies and things like that and, obviously, in summer you get wet yes or yes . It will be necessary to know the price to know if it is worthwhile in reference to other solutions, but for now it seems to me a great option.
