"I hate the Rose": the saga of youth literature that comes alive on the Internet

I would like to talk about "I hate the Rose" a saga of youth literature edited by Oxford University Press, which has been thought to be very attractive to the audience it addresses.

But "I hate the Rose" is more than that, since the project constitutes itself an innovative and different literary universe, which comes alive on the Internet, after readers have read one or another book. And it is aimed at adolescents, and aims to promote the reading habit, while adapting to a social and cultural reality that we cannot hide: the fact that part of their time is connected.

This saga is formed by two novels: "Dani's Story" and "Sara's Story", it is not necessary to read them both because there is not one that is continuation of the other; although the vision you have when reading the two is more coplera. It is an innovative transmedia narrative project in our country that associates several digital resources with reading.

The fates of Sara and Dani intersect, and both take the reader to a globalized world that in 2055 is dominated by multinationals that keep the identity of citizens to reach them more easily through advertising. The protagonists try to break the rules and regain their freedom.

"I hate the Rose" allows to continue enjoy an exciting world that complements books with reading on the Internet and communication on social networks. But it is not necessary to leave after reading the books on the Internet to expand content and discover secrets of the protagonists. Whichever way you choose to get into these stories, you will enjoy the adventure.

The team that has enabled boys and girls to enjoy “I hate the Rose” are Ana Alonso and Javier Pelegrín as authors: The first has been dedicated exclusively to writing after having worked as a Biology teacher; The second is a professor of Spanish Language and Literature at an Institute of Secondary Education, specializing in youth literature.

We also find Miguel Navía who has done the illustrations, since 2003 he has been working on illustration for books and press. Among his works, the illustrations of classics like Charles Dickens, or more current authors such as Jordi Soler.

Finally Felipe Samper is the design manager, works independently for several literature publishers for all ages.

It is an initiative that I like a lot because teenage boys and girls tend to like Science Fiction, and also the possibility of continuing reading in books with the resources that extend it on the Internet, it is very tempting.
