Children decisively influence the purchases made by parents

To what extent do our children influence the purchases we make? That same question we have asked ourselves on occasion, and the result is very clear, its influence has a significant weight in our decisions. According to experts this it is the result of the democratization of the family, the voice and vote of each family component counts. This fact makes our children get involved in our decisions, in our purchases ... the truth is that children make certain choices and we accept them as normal, provided they are not harmful.

Family democratization has allowed children to believe that they have every right to decide, hence some children suffer those public tantrums that leave us in evidence, trying to get what they request. Returning to the issue of influence, many advertising campaigns encompass children, companies know their decision-making power in the family environment, they also know that they are the family member who has less notions of economics and more of consumerism. As experts like the advertising professor Víctor Curto of the Ramón Llull University say, the most expensive products are those that are intended for children and the reason is obvious, the children will try to get their parents to provide them and depending on each case, the reasons will be different for the parents to give in, but the child's goal will be met. Developed countries are those who suffer the most from the phenomenon of parental influence of children, several experts indicate that it is even a phenomenon that is increasing.

At the moment, children already know that they influence the purchases made by their parents, they even manifest it through a survey carried out by the Milward Brown company, up to 73% of the minors who surveyed affirm that they influence their parents, being children aged between 8 and 12 years. It would be interesting to know the point of view of younger children and of course their parents.

Children influence a good number of market products, clothing, toys, footwear, food, etc., it is a situation that sometimes generates various conflicts, but the worst of all is that the experts themselves indicate that children they begin to influence family decisions more and more quickly, consumerism is undoubtedly taking possession of them.

This consumerism needs a control that parents must impose, we have already talked about it, spending little time with the children makes an attempt to compensate for this lack in some way and we accept a good part of their wishes, we accept the consumerist whims because the child The announcement of a certain product has been funny, although it may be more expensive, all so that you are happy. We parents have to rethink our performance and ask ourselves if such permission is really beneficial.

Let's see if we are going to move from a democratic family to a children's dictatorship ...
