Three book mothers, taking time to write a book when you're a mother is the triple somersault of the organization

Today is the day and it will not be because you have not had inspiration, for suggestions at least on our part it has not been, surely you have surprised mom with a personal gift, one that she liked, that was waiting, that has been A surprise, a special gift.

With three moms we talk today precisely three women In addition to moms they have found a gift in writing, they have developed their professional careers and they have also managed to dump all their imagination on paper.

They are Arancha, Melisa and Ana, three book mothers. Three women, three mothers who take time to write their books, the triple somersault of the organization.

Fantastic literature in the hands of a mother, With the few women who are normally included in the lists of fiction authors, today I bring you nothing less than three, throwing the statistics out the window!

Norse Mythology

Arancha has been a writer before mother although the publication came after her son, for the moment both fill their time one hundred percent competing for their attention for what they are: their two children.

Arancha has published his first book “Neimhaim. The children of the snow and the storm ”and is already working on the second installment of this story that he plans to publish this year (more or less). She is passionate about fantasy literature, Norse mythology, history, art, comics, is a role player and was a martial arts practitioner… when she had some more free time, of course.

How do you organize the time to write a woman who is also a mother, Arancha?

Well, if you also have a workday, writing at night, when "the owl is in the olive tree", as my husband and I usually say. We try to put him to bed between 9.30 or 10.00 at the latest and then to make the most of the time, until the body endures!
Fortunately, this year I am enjoying the wonderful privilege of making my job the job of writing, so I have all morning available for homework. But before it was much more complicated, it is a delicate and sometimes frustrating balance to dedicate to your child the time you want and your book too.

What was the first book you got for Mother's Day or the first, the one you liked the most?

I'm afraid they haven't given me any books for Mother's Day yet, and that my husband is a bookseller! but before even having my little one, he gave me a wonderful story that has always touched me about a mother hare and her son: “Guess how much I love you” by Sam McBratney and Anita Jeram, I wanted to be a mother immediately! .

Well, as good frikimadre that I am ... I am looking forward to the new edition of "Elantris" by Brandon Sanderson, especially the limited edition with two covers of the Gigamesh bookstore.
I also sigh for the last volume of the comic "Saga"
And a very cool technological thriller that has come out recently, "Children of the Binary God" by David B. Gil.

Fiction and technology

Melissa is the mother of two children of flesh and blood and at the moment of a paper "daughter" called "Galatea", her first book published today but has already finished the second book, which has nothing to do at all With the first in terms of thematic and has already gotten fully into the third story that is already there, he returns to fiction which is where it seems that she loves to move.

How do you organize the time to write a woman who is also a mother?

It is a matter of creating a routine and having a record rather than finding a lot of time to write, in my case the most effective thing is to get used to dedicating little, pildoritas, almost every day. It is more or less like going to the gym or going for a run but it takes less time because you don't get dirty or have to leave home. I write at night, when I have put the children to bed. In bed, like Proust and with the bedside light on and the laptop. My motto was “Not a day without a line”In the end there are days that you don't write but if you do it almost every day at the end you have a book. For example, in my animal protection blog I have been publishing a chapter a week live and direct, as a kamikaze. After a year there was a book of three hundred pages almost without feeling it. And it is essential to have a story that you need to get, of course. Ah! I forgot it. Wi-Fi does not reach my bedroom. It is a good idea to remove access to the Internet, as you enter a social network when you want to realize you will have already reached bedtime without having written a word.

What was the first book you got for Mother's Day or the first, the one you liked the most?

The truth is that people don't usually give me books, they are afraid of making mistakes and that I don't like it, that I have already read it, that I prefer to read it in English ... they feel insecure doing it. "My Saint" dared to give me those of Terry Pratchett, there I knew he was always right. The bad thing is that he has died (I wrote about it on the blog) and they will no longer be published. In general I have a reputation for being difficult to give away. I don't care about perfumes and one lasts for years, I care little for clothes and I prefer to buy it, I don't wear jewelry…

For mother's day? Well, some of Perl S. Buck that I have not read, although I have read almost everything. She was the first woman to get a book of literature, I discovered her as a child in a collection of my parents and she is one of my favorite writers.
The same goes for Ana María Matute, I have some left to read, I wish I could grow old with that literary freshness.
Also from Úrsula K. Leguin I have a few earrings.

Fiction, fantasy and romanticism

Ana González Duque has two children of flesh and blood and for only a few days, another five children on paper, a large family that looks like it won't stop growing! He has already published four books and has just released the second part of his fiction story “Legends of the limit land. The Dark Lands. "

How do you organize the time to write a woman who is also a mother?

Wrong. You already know that I am the queen of productivity (laughs), but it is enough that one of the two dwarves gets bad so that the house of cards falls to me. I rearrange. I try to keep a quota of words a day. And I sleep little.

What was the first book you got for mother's day or if not the first one you liked the most?

My children have not given me books for Mother's Day: portraits of clothespins, yes, but not even one. But, in a matter of children, I love Isabel García Zarza's book "Diary of an imperfect mother" and that of one Pilar Fonseca "Mamá Full time" (who do you say? Hahahahaha). The two have made me laugh out loud.

Right now I have a few on my wishlist. The ones I want most are:
A dark story, by Naomi Novik.
Herbarium, by Anna Cassanovas.
Fantastic creatures, by Neil Gaiman ... I read a lot of youthful fantasy and a lot of romance.

Thank you very much to the three, Arancha, Melisa and Ana for taking a place to chat about writing when you are a mother.

Well, you see that Being a mother is something very intense, something that implies a change but not an abandonment, at least not for these three writers who are also mothers or these three mothers who are also writers, where is the difference?
