Ingredients for six people

  • A plate of chilled puff pastry, three tablespoons of mayonnaise, a tub of cream cheese and 180 g of canned northern bonito (drained), a beaten egg

How to make a braid of northern bonito and cream cheese

We preheat the oven to 200ºC and we put a tray so that it is very hot when we place our braid of puff pastry. Thus, in addition to cooking the top part well, the bottom part will also be made that will directly receive heat from the tray itself. We also did so by making the chicken and corn dumplings that were so successful at home.

While the oven is preheating, we stretch the puff pastry plate and divide it mentally into three parts. With a fork, we chop the center and on the two of the sides, we make a diagonal cuts then close them forming the braid. Look at the images and you will see that it is simple.

In a bowl we mix the cream cheese, the northern bonito and the mayonnaise, working it with a fork until it is homogeneous. Then we distribute that blend in the central part of the puff pastry. We finished forming the dough by closing the cuts one by one alternating those on each side to form the braid.

Bake 20 minutes with heat up and down at 190 ° C. Then we varnish with beaten egg and leave others 10 more minutes, only with heat below. We remove from the oven and can eat it both hot, when it cools a little, as cold, because it is very good in both ways.
