Animals are not toys

Many children want pets as a Christmas gift. But they are not always aware of the responsibility that having a pet entails, and unfortunately every year the sad figures of animals abandoned by the families that a few months before decided to give that pet without stopping to think if it was a whim.

It can be compared with those spoiled toys that no longer serve and end up in the container. But animals are not toys but living beings that need care, pampering and attention for a long time, that have their rights and their needs, and that is claimed from many animal protection associations.

That is why adopting a pet is a more responsible option, since there are so many animals in adoption centers and shelters (which in turn were abandoned after an unsanctioned purchase).

The animals in these centers are the most needy, and although I am not a lover of having animals at home, I know more than one case of friends with pets taken They are charming, affectionate and strong as the ones that most.

Perhaps this is how the tremendous figures can be reduced: almost half a million animals are abandoned every year, not counting those killed in clinics or kennels or those who die run over, sick or malnourished.
