'Between darkness': a friendship story based on trust, and the story of how Luna's family is happy again

As we had promised you, as soon as we have had Begoña Torres 'In Darkness', we have read it, and we think that It is a very attractive youth book for children.

It is a mystery and adventure novel starring two very special friends, which tells the story of Luna and her family, or rather that she is slowly reeling the reason that the protagonist (a girl of only 10 years) must live isolated from the rest of the world. A life of captivity motivated by the need of their parents to protect it, due to the danger that the whole family lurks. Her short life is marked by several removals and a seclusion that she has not chosen, but she is not alone in this: her mother (who also educates her to learn like other children) and her brother, are equally locked up, their father goes to work every day.

However with that age, one already begins to consider his relationship with the world beyond the family, and Daniel (who has just moved to the house opposite) will help Luna know a little more about what is beyond the walls of her house.

Until then, he had only gone out into the garden at night, and dressed in black ... At the moment when his mother's motives begin to lose consciousness, the possibility of living in another way is glimpsed. Not only is Daniel the one who helps Luna question his life, the pieces of his parents' existence before the birth of the children, await in the form of memories in the attic.

I felt like any other ten year old girl. It was true that I did not go to school because my parents preferred that I study at home, that they did not take me to the park unless it was at night and that is why I had no friends, but I was no different. I wanted to go to school, go out and travel, I wanted to see the sea, to lie on the sand and toast in the sun, but above all I wanted to have a friend, someone to talk to, play and share secrets

With 12 years, Daniel is already able to understand how Luna feels, and also his long conversations in the dark make her the best friend despite the differences. The desire for affirmation and not feeling understood by their parents make Luna skip the family rules, after the party comes the getaway and the search for truth.

Grandparents he didn't even know, an uncle who betrayed the family, the moving love story of his parents (two tremendously different beings), and the discovery of his secret, keep our attention and let us see an exciting ending.

Despite everything, Luna already knows that her mother loves her, she will never have doubts again, because she has been at his side at the worst time, just like Daniel. Your friendship is now sealed with trust and respect.

The family is now as happy as her parents were in the past, and although her little brother will not like school as much as she does, at least now everyone can tan a little in the sunlight, but with protection solar because ... (I must not tell you this, you will find out).

It is a highly recommended book, for children aged nine to 14 enjoy mystery stories. It has a very interesting descriptive style, and is dotted with small surprises to keep the attention.
